Overview:  Annual sales for 2010 compared to 2009 showed a small increase in the number of sales and a larger increase in the dollar volume.  The $671 M 2010 dollar volume is up 6.7% over the 2009 levels and the number of sales, 3,897 increased .67% over 2009 sales.   

The fourth quarter 2010 sales dollar volume and number of sales showed a moderate decrease when comparing the fourth quarter of 2010 to 2009. For the 2010 year new construction of single family homes was up from somewhat from 2009, as shown in the annual single family construction graphs.

The following quarterly trends in real estate are based upon total single-family residential sales data reported through the Shreveport-Bossier Multiple Listing Service.

Total Dollar Volume of Sales:  The total volume for 2010 fourth quarter sales of $137 million was down from the fourth quarter of 2009, both in constant dollars (adjusted for inflation) and actual sales dollars compared to 2009.

Number of Sales:  The 812 sales reported for the fourth quarter of 2010 represents a 15% decrease over the fourth quarter of 2009. 

Annual sales in 1994 were 3,479 units.
